Answer: No, it just means you'll receive occasional updates from us, including our pilot launch announcement. If you ever want to unsubscribe, we make it easy.
What does fair rent mean?
Answer: Thoughtful Village units will cost 10% less than market average, and 5-year leases with uncapped extensions mean you never have to worry about evictions or rent spikes.
What is a configurable unit?
Answer: A home you can easily adapt to be a 1, 2 or 3 bedroom using our proprietary architecture system. For example, an expecting couple could start with an oversized 1-bedroom, then add rooms as their children start to need them.
What are the onsite amenities?
Answer: Family daycare, shared central courtyard, playground, gym, co-working hub, rooftop garden, event space and a kids gear library.

How big are the villages?
Answer: Early sites will be 4-6 story buildings with 16-24 units each. Big enough to feel alive, small enough to know everyone.
Where will they be located?
Answer: Thoughtful Villages are designed to solve the logistical issues of city living. The first site is planned for Sydney, with locations in Melbourne and Brisbane to follow, but we're open to building anywhere resident demand is high enough.
Is it fully non-profit?
Answer: Yes. Thoughtful Villages was created by parents on a mission to make family life easier. Any operating surpluses will be used to build new villages.
When will the first village be ready?
Answer: We’re currently working with partners and funders to bring the first pilot to life. Our goal is to begin site selection and detailed design this year, with the first families moving in from 2027.
Does anything like this already exist?
Answer: No, this model is new. Most property development is driven by profit, and no one has designed a living system specifically for families until now.
